Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and sustain robust backend services and web applications.

  • Engage in the development of real-time web applications for audio and SMS communications with patients.

  • Create and manage fault-tolerant, scalable workflows for asynchronous background processing.

  • Collaborate effectively with frontend, product management, and infrastructure teams to ensure the delivery of reliable, compliant systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in building high-availability backend applications within regulated sectors (e.g., healthcare, finance).

  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and/or Python for backend service development.

  • Experience with backend APIs utilizing Node.js, Express, Mongoose, Twilio or similar technologies.

  • Familiarity with distributed workflow orchestration systems such as Temporal, Cadence, AWS Step Functions, or Conductor.

  • Solid grasp of distributed systems principles, including retries, idempotency, and robust failure handling.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within the healthcare technology or SaaS sectors at a mid-sized startup.

  • Understanding of HL7, FHIR, or EHR integration processes.

  • Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and version control systems (e.g., Git).

  • Experience in a monorepo environment (e.g., Turborepo, Nx).
