Key Responsibilities:
Lead projects and mentor fellow engineers in implementing new features while coordinating closely with product and design teams.
Design and develop Grindr's backend services within a robust and scalable microservices architecture.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to enhance feature design and functionality.
Optimize core components of Grindr's platform utilizing technologies such as Redis, Postgres, and Kafka on AWS.
Drive innovation by making data-informed decisions to incorporate new technologies, architectures, and workflows.
Ensure high availability of the Grindr platform by leveraging distributed systems and infrastructure engineering, actively participating in optimizations, cost reductions, and incident management.
Mentor and guide team members through pair programming, code reviews, and architecture assessments.
What We’re Looking For:
A minimum of 7 years of experience as a Software Engineer focusing on backend systems (Service APIs, Data Processing, Messaging Services).
Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale API systems ensuring high load capacity and data consistency within a microservices framework.
Expertise in developing systems that leverage Cloud Services, with a preference for AWS.
A passion for software testing and system reliability.
In-depth understanding of concurrency concepts and their implications.
A strong curiosity for problem-solving and a desire to understand systems end-to-end.
