As a Senior Backend Developer specializing in Payments at fuku, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and scaling high-performance payment systems that facilitate millions of transactions worldwide. Our payment infrastructure supports a diverse range of solutions, including international card networks, real-time QR payments, and high-volume switching platforms, ensuring optimal performance in both retail POS and e-commerce settings.
In this impactful role, you will:
- Architect and implement robust backend systems to integrate with major payment networks such as Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and UPI.
- Develop secure, scalable solutions across the entire payment lifecycle, including authorization, clearing, settlement, and merchant onboarding.
- Lead modernization efforts to transition legacy payment platforms to Linux RHEL or cloud environments.
- Optimize switching systems to handle ultra-high transaction volumes, minimizing latency, ensuring resilience, and maintaining consistent uptime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, quality assurance, and business units, to deliver reliable, production-ready payment capabilities on a global scale.
What you bring to the role:
- Over 8 years of backend development experience, particularly within payment systems and transaction processing environments.
- Strong expertise in C++, Linux, and scripting languages (e.g., Korn Shell) in high-availability production settings.
- Proven experience with Base24, international card scheme integrations, and contemporary QR payment systems.
- In-depth knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), messaging frameworks (IBM MQ), and performance tuning in distributed systems.
- Familiarity with POS/EDC, ATM systems, and the broader payment infrastructure for both physical and digital transactions.
