Role overview

The Senior Avionics Test & Integration Engineer leads the electrical interconnect systems for Mach’s UAV platforms. This is a hands-on position responsible for the entire lifecycle of harnesses: from design and prototyping to validation and production release. Collaboration with electrical, mechanical, and testing teams is central to delivering lightweight, reliable, and production-ready harness solutions. The role also focuses on improving test infrastructure, including fixtures and system test racks. Success in this position requires quick execution, independence, and a strong focus on results.

Main responsibilities

  • Harness Design & Ownership
    • Lead the design of UAV wiring harnesses from concept through production release.
    • Develop harnesses for power, high-speed signals, RF, and mixed-signal systems, meeting strict size, weight, and power requirements.
    • Work closely with mechanical and electrical teams to iterate on harness layouts, routing, and packaging.
    • Select connectors, shielding methods, wire types, and protection schemes for harsh environments, including vibration, temperature extremes, and EMI.
    • Emphasize reliability, manufacturability, and ease of field service in all design decisions.
  • Build, Integration & Validation
    • Directly assemble and prototype harnesses.
    • Lead integration of harnesses into full vehicle systems.
    • Define and execute validation protocols such as continuity, insulation resistance, shielding effectiveness, and system-level functional checks.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly during integration and flight testing.
