About the job
Relativity Space is building rockets for the next era of space exploration. The Terran R vehicle aims to deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting the growing demand for launch capacity. As Terran R moves toward commercial success, new opportunities will emerge to advance science and exploration.
At Relativity, engineers work in an environment that values autonomy and ownership. Contributions are visible and impactful, whether in propulsion, avionics, manufacturing, or software. Teams collaborate closely, and technical ideas quickly become reality. This is a pivotal moment to influence the product, the process, and company culture as Terran R gains momentum.
Team Overview
The Avionics team oversees the full lifecycle of Terran R’s electrical systems. This includes designing, building, testing, installing, and operating the hardware that connects and controls every major system on the vehicle and on the ground. The team’s structure brings together design, manufacturing, and testing, allowing for rapid iteration and feedback. Engineers work closely with propulsion, guidance and navigation, fluids, and stage engineering teams to ensure smooth integration and operation. Team members have significant ownership of components that will fly on Terran R.
