About the job
At Assala Energy, we are a forward-thinking Oil and Gas Exploration and Production company dedicated to sustainable asset development in Gabon. Our culture is rooted in collaboration, diversity, and an unwavering commitment to safety and integrity in all of our operations.
Founded through strategic acquisitions, our portfolio comprises aging assets that bring both extensive operational experience and unique challenges. These include limited corrosion allowances, equipment performance degradation, evolving fluid compositions, and strict emissions regulations. While addressing symptoms may provide temporary relief, it often overlooks the underlying issues, leading to recurring challenges. We are seeking a seasoned and practical process engineer to deliver process engineering services across our sites, effectively diagnosing problems and proposing solid solutions.
Your key deliverables will include:
- Gaining a thorough understanding of the design and specific characteristics of each asset.
- Conducting site visits to interface with the Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) and operators to pinpoint operational challenges.
- Creating a SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) framework to tackle identified challenges, prioritizing safety and production output.
- Proposing practical and actionable solutions.
- Facilitating necessary tests to validate the feasibility of proposed solutions.
- Effectively communicating findings and proposals to stakeholders.
- Collaborating with the process team based in Gabon or London to develop the selected solution.
- Providing operational support to the Gabon process team as needed.
- Reporting on activities to the London office as required.
- Collaborating with other disciplines to develop or implement proposed solutions.
- Supporting operations with high-priority process challenges focused on safety and production output.
- Assisting in process optimization for each asset.
- Offering technical input on operations-related projects as required.
- Adopting a pragmatic and progressive approach to resolving any critical issues that may arise.
Please note that occasional travel to our sites in Gabon will be necessary.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Process Engineer in late-life assets and in the Process/Petrochemicals Industry or onshore/offshore oil & gas operations.
- Fluency in both French and English.
- Proven track record of generating and implementing innovative and safe solutions to process engineering challenges.
- Hands-on operational site experience is essential.
