What We Are Looking For4-7 years of experience in information security, preferably with a significant role in shaping security functions at a startup or high-growth company. You should be someone who builds, not just maintains. Hands-on experience in securing cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes). Proficient in SIEM platforms and detection engineering, inclusive of writing detection rules. Familiarity with application security practices, including threat modeling, secure code review, CI/CD pipeline hardening, and API security testing. Experience with endpoint security tools (EDR/XDR) and identity & access management in a SaaS-heavy environment (Google Workspace, Okta/Cloudflare Access, SSO/SCIM). Ability to assess and secure emerging AI/agentic tools, understanding the risks associated with LLM integrations and automated workflows, and defining practical guardrails. Experience in conducting vendor security assessments and managing third-party due diligence processes.

Role Overview: Security Engineer (London)

This Security Engineer role is based in London. The position centers on strengthening ARQ’s security posture across infrastructure, applications, and workflows. Collaboration with teams across the company is essential to drive improvements and maintain high standards for data and system protection.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine SIEM detection rules, alert pipelines, and automated response playbooks using platforms such as Datadog SIEM, CrowdStrike, and Cloudflare.
  • Contribute to incident response readiness by creating incident response playbooks, running tabletop exercises, and setting up forensic procedures.
  • Support data loss prevention (DLP) strategies and data protection across Google Workspace, Slack, and internal tools.
  • Conduct cloud security assessments focused on AWS and Kubernetes environments.
  • Lead application security projects, including threat modeling, secure code reviews, API testing, and enhancing security pipelines.
  • Assess and secure AI and agentic workflows by reviewing prompts, preventing harmful actions, and managing risks related to data exposure.
  • Set up and manage the vendor security assessment process, building a scalable due diligence framework for onboarding third parties.
