Qualifications
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review individual (1040) and business tax returns, including 1065, 1120S, and 1120, along with state filings. Identify tax issues, conduct research, and exercise sound professional judgment. Assist in tax planning through projections, estimated taxes, and considerations for different entities. Review financial statements and comprehend book-to-tax differences. Maintain thorough documentation, workpapers, and support for tax returns. Engage directly with clients to request necessary information, clarify tax outcomes, and manage expectations. Oversee deadlines, organize work efficiently, and guide engagements from inception to completion. Collaborate with bookkeeping and advisory team members to ensure accuracy and alignment. Required Experience & SkillsAt least 2+ tax seasons of experience preparing business tax returns with an accounting firm. Strong technical tax compliance skills. Proficient in preparing complex individual and business tax returns with minimal supervision. Solid understanding of tax issues related to closely held businesses and individuals. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management capabilities. Professional communication skills suitable for client interactions. Preferred QualificationsCPA or EA designation (or actively pursuing). Experience with multi-state and complex returns. Ability to review or mentor staff work. Process-oriented mindset with an interest in enhancing workflows and efficiency.
