Requirements:Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience. At least 3 years of experience as a sales development representative with a proven track record of meeting lead/sales quotas. Experience in a SaaS and/or EdTech environment is highly preferred. Demonstrated capability in initiating and nurturing relationships with potential customers through targeted outbound prospecting techniques (social media, email, phone). Proficiency in Salesforce or another CRM is essential. Exceptional communication skills (oral and written) and confidence in presenting to prospects. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as a productive team member, showcasing a strong work ethic and proactive approach. Experience with prospecting applications like LinkedIn Sales Navigator. Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills. Full proficiency in English.

Join Turnitin as a Sales Development Representative and contribute to our mission of enhancing educational integrity. We are looking for a motivated and resourceful individual who will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth by strategically prospecting new accounts and identifying high-quality leads for our sales team.

As the first point of contact for potential business opportunities, you will collaborate closely with our account executives to build a strong pipeline of qualified leads. Your responsibilities will include conducting market research, executing data-driven campaigns, and crafting dynamic territory plans. You'll gain an in-depth understanding of Turnitin's Integrity and Assessment product portfolios, enabling you to assess customer needs, address objections, and present tailored solutions. You'll nurture relationships with prospects until they are ready to engage with a sales account executive, allowing the team to focus on closing deals while you concentrate on generating new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning & Prospecting: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to inform our go-to-market strategy. Collaborate with your regional sales team to develop and implement a dynamic territory plan, identifying key opportunities and ensuring measurable outcomes.
  • Lead Generation: Proactively prospect within assigned territories to generate fresh leads. Design and execute targeted multi-touch inbound and outbound campaigns using social media, email, and phone to enhance engagement and cultivate a robust pipeline.
  • Lead Qualification & Advancement: Follow up, qualify, and nurture all assigned leads. Navigate institutional buying processes by identifying key decision-makers and influencers. Skillfully address prospect objections by clarifying concerns and providing well-prepared solutions.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the sales team to determine appropriate next steps for each prospect. Keep the sales team updated on project statuses, ensuring all relevant CRM systems (such as Salesforce.com) are updated in real-time.
  • Performance & Development: Meet or exceed all assigned Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Maintain detailed prospect account lists, meticulously tracking lead progress. Continuously enhance your technical, competitive, and sales skills.
