Essential QualificationsBSc in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience. Demonstrated ability to generate reliable data and achieve results under stringent deadlines. Hands-on expertise in molecular biology techniques, including PCR, PCR clean-up, and agarose gel electrophoresis. Experience in protein science methodologies such as affinity-based purification, protein quantification, and SDS PAGE analysis. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Eligibility to work in the UK. Desirable QualificationsMSc in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline with at least 1 year of industry experience. Prior experience in a Contract Research Organization (CRO) or the biotechnology sector. Familiarity with liquid handling platforms (e.g., Opentron, KingFisher). Experience with automated electrophoresis systems like the Fragment Analyzer. Understanding of cell-free protein synthesis technologies.

Role Overview

The Research Associate in Service Fulfillment will support custom projects and DNA construct amplification using the eProtein Discovery Platform. This role involves following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and detailed work instructions to ensure quality and consistency. The position suits someone who is organized, attentive to detail, and comfortable working independently under time constraints.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct PCR to prepare DNA constructs for cell-free protein expression.
  • Carry out protein purification, quantification, SDS PAGE analysis, and gel filtration chromatography or Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) analysis.
  • Run experiments using Nuclera’s eProtein Discovery Platform.
  • Follow Work Instructions and SOPs to maintain quality standards.
  • Systematically manage and organize large sets of biological samples.
  • Document experimental methods, observations, and results with accuracy.
