To thrive as an Owner Operator Driver with Altom Transport, you must meet the following qualifications:Late Model Equipment: Your truck must meet Altom's stringent inspection standards. Valid CDL Class A License: Required. Tanker Endorsement (N): Required. Hazmat Endorsement (H): Preferred (must obtain within 90 days of hire; assistance available). TWIC Card: Preferred (or must obtain after hire). Experience: Minimum of 1 year of verifiable tanker driving experience. Age Requirement: Must be at least 23 years of age. Clean MVR: A strong safety record is essential. Health Requirements: Must pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check. Work Ethic: Dependable, safety-minded, and capable of working independently. Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible schedules, including 24/7 availability when needed.

Role overview

This Regional Owner Operator - Tanker Driver position is based in Beaumont, Texas. Most routes last three to five days, and drivers are typically home every few days. The role centers on transporting chemical and petroleum loads using tank trailers while following all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Main responsibilities

  • Transport chemical and petroleum products safely in tank trailers, complying with DOT and Hazmat regulations.
  • Maintain your truck to meet all inspection and safety standards.
  • Load and unload at delivery locations using safe procedures.
  • Keep accurate logs and ensure all documentation is complete and compliant.
  • Represent Altom Transport professionally with every customer interaction.
  • Manage business aspects such as fuel purchases, trip planning, and scheduling to optimize earnings.
  • Meet required mileage or hour targets to maintain steady work.
  • Be available for 24/7 operations when needed.
