RequirementsAt Altom Transport, we uphold a rigorous safety program that includes thorough onboarding and training within our safety department, complemented by mandatory quarterly safety meetings for all drivers. Our objective is to ensure the highest quality service for our customers while equipping our drivers and employees with the necessary tools and support for safe and professional conduct on public highways. Valid CDL Class A License. Must possess a current X endorsement (Hazmat + Tanker). Tanker Endorsement (N) – Required. Hazmat Endorsement (H) – Preferred (must be obtained within 90 days of hire; assistance available). TWIC Card – Preferred (or must obtain after hire). A minimum of 2 years of verifiable tanker driving experience within the last 5 years. At least 23 years of age. Clean MVR and a strong safety record. No DUI/OWI offenses recorded within the last 5 years. Must not be listed in the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse. No preventable fatal or rollover accidents in the last 5 years. No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.

Role overview

The Regional CDL A Tanker Driver position is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Drivers in this role handle regional routes, typically spending 3 to 5 days on the road before returning home. Schedules are flexible and can be adjusted to suit different preferences, whether for shorter or longer trips.

What you will do

  • Operate tanker trucks to safely transport bulk liquid materials.
  • Load and unload cargo using hoses, pumps, and valves, following strict safety procedures.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting findings as required.
  • Maintain accurate trip records, logs, and inspection reports.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers.
  • Comply with DOT, EPA, and all applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a professional attitude in all customer interactions.
