About the job
What will your responsibilities be?
1. Reliability
- Conduct failure mode analysis (FMEA/FTA) on critical components (bogies, braking systems, traction units, signaling).
- Calculate and validate metrics such as MTBF, MTTR, and failure rates (λ) using specialized software or client-specific tools.
- Participate in validation testing (laboratory/field) to ensure compliance with reliability requirements, documenting results according to EN 50126.
- Prepare technical reports that justify the achievement of contractual reliability objectives.
2. Availability
- Develop availability models (RBD diagrams, Markov chains) to predict system performance in various operational scenarios.
- Propose redundancy strategies or design improvements to enhance availability, aligned with client requirements.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to define plans that maximize operational availability, leveraging historical and predictive data.
3. Maintainability
- Design optimized maintenance procedures, including repair times, necessary tools, and training for technicians.
- Evaluate the accessibility of components and suggest design enhancements (DFM – Design for Maintenance) to ensure systems are easy to repair and maintain.
- Draft technical manuals and documentation for maintenance teams, both internal and for end clients.
4. Documentation and Regulatory Management
- Draft and review RAMS reports (e.g., reliability reports) in accordance with EN 50126, EN 50129, and CSM RA, ensuring alignment with client certification processes.
- Ensure compliance with European railway regulations and internal standards, participating in audits and technical reviews.
5. Cross-functional Coordination
- Collaborate with systems engineering, quality, and procurement teams to integrate RAMS requirements in the early design phases.
- Participate in technical meetings with end clients to present analyses, risks, and recommendations.
- Utilize product lifecycle management tools (Windchill, DOORS, SAP PLM) to document and track the status of RAMS requirements throughout the project.
