What are we looking for?Educational Background and Experience:Required Degree: Bachelor's in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. Master's in Railway Engineering, RAMS, or Transport Systems (valued). Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in similar roles in the railway sector, with demonstrated experience in RAMS analysis and application of EN 50126/EN 50129 standards. Languages:Spanish: Native. What will your responsibilities be?

1. Reliability

  • Conduct failure mode analysis (FMEA/FTA) on critical components (bogies, braking systems, traction units, signaling).
  • Calculate and validate metrics such as MTBF, MTTR, and failure rates (λ) using specialized software or client-specific tools.
  • Participate in validation testing (laboratory/field) to ensure compliance with reliability requirements, documenting results according to EN 50126.
  • Prepare technical reports that justify the achievement of contractual reliability objectives.

2. Availability

  • Develop availability models (RBD diagrams, Markov chains) to predict system performance in various operational scenarios.
  • Propose redundancy strategies or design improvements to enhance availability, aligned with client requirements.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to define plans that maximize operational availability, leveraging historical and predictive data.

3. Maintainability

  • Design optimized maintenance procedures, including repair times, necessary tools, and training for technicians.
  • Evaluate the accessibility of components and suggest design enhancements (DFM – Design for Maintenance) to ensure systems are easy to repair and maintain.
  • Draft technical manuals and documentation for maintenance teams, both internal and for end clients.

4. Documentation and Regulatory Management

  • Draft and review RAMS reports (e.g., reliability reports) in accordance with EN 50126, EN 50129, and CSM RA, ensuring alignment with client certification processes.
  • Ensure compliance with European railway regulations and internal standards, participating in audits and technical reviews.

5. Cross-functional Coordination

  • Collaborate with systems engineering, quality, and procurement teams to integrate RAMS requirements in the early design phases.
  • Participate in technical meetings with end clients to present analyses, risks, and recommendations.
  • Utilize product lifecycle management tools (Windchill, DOORS, SAP PLM) to document and track the status of RAMS requirements throughout the project.
