Educational/Experience Requirements:Completion of a two-year radiologic technology program from an AMA-accredited institution. Required License/Certifications:Active certification in diagnostic radiography from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Current licensure in the State of Maryland. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Process radiographic films, ensuring demographic and technical details are correct and images meet quality standards.
  2. Carry out procedures efficiently, making sure all essential information appears on images and related paperwork.
  3. Monitor patient conditions during procedures, provide first aid when needed, and assist physicians in emergencies or if adverse reactions occur.
  4. Apply radiation protection measures for every patient, follow safety regulations, and attend required radiation safety training.
  5. Work with management to suggest improvements, report problems, and offer feedback to support patient care and department operations.
  6. Keep track of inventory in your assigned area and alert your manager to shortages.
  7. Restock your work area each shift and manage expiration dates for time-sensitive supplies.
  8. Help train rotating students and orient new staff as needed.
  9. Take on additional duties as assigned, which may include billing and quality assurance tasks.
  10. Maintain your professional license, complete required CME credits, and participate in educational activities to meet regulatory requirements.
