QA Engineer (Accessibility Specialist)

Role Overview

The QA Engineer specializing in accessibility is tasked with ensuring the quality, functionality, and compliance of eLearning content. This includes diverse formats such as Web-Based Training (WBT), Instructor-Led Training (ILT), PDFs, and mobile learning modules. The primary focus is to guarantee that all learning assets adhere to technical standards, accessibility guidelines, and user experience expectations prior to launch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute comprehensive testing of eLearning materials to validate functionality, design uniformity, and user experience.
  • Perform both manual and basic automated testing across WBT, ILT, PDFs, and mobile courses.
  • Ensure adherence to SCORM, AICC, and accessibility standards (WCAG / Section 508).
  • Assess course functionality across various Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Identify, document, and monitor defects utilizing tools like Jira or similar defect-tracking systems.
  • Facilitate accessibility testing to confirm courses meet inclusivity and usability standards.

Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with eLearning standards such as SCORM, AICC, WCAG / Section 508.
  • Experience with LMS platforms and authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate).
  • Proficient with QA tools, defect tracking systems, and testing workflows (Jira preferred).

Soft Skills

  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Effective time management and ability to adhere to project deadlines.
  • Problem-solving mindset with adaptability to new tools and technologies.
