1. Procurement Strategy & Governance
Lead all Direct and Indirect purchasing operations for the plant, taking full accountability for procurement performance.
Establish and enforce a comprehensive procurement strategy that aligns with business goals, emphasizing growth, profitability, localization, and risk management.
Design and implement both short-term and long-term sourcing plans.
Oversee category strategies, commodity planning, and supplier segmentation frameworks.
Promote global sourcing and localization projects to boost competitiveness and ensure supply stability.
2. Cost Leadership & Financial Accountability
Be responsible for achieving annual cost reduction targets and managing the material budget in conjunction with plant and central teams.
Lead negotiations on significant contracts and long-term agreements.
Facilitate value engineering, cost benchmarking, and productivity enhancement initiatives.
Keep abreast of commodity trends and apply suitable hedging and risk management strategies.
Contribute to optimizing working capital via inventory and payment term oversight.
3. Supplier Strategy & Risk Management
Build and maintain a strong, competitive, and risk-balanced supplier network.
Foster long-term strategic alliances with essential suppliers.
Implement dual sourcing strategies and proactive measures for supply risk mitigation.
Ensure business continuity plans are in place for critical components and services.
4. Compliance, Controls & Commercial Governance
Guarantee procurement adherence to corporate policies, legal regulations, and governance standards.
Establish and oversee transparent procurement processes, approval frameworks, and delegation structures.
Ensure readiness for audits (ISO/system, DC, MP, etc.) and maintain zero compliance gaps.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Engineering to facilitate early supplier involvement in New Product Development (NPD).
Collaborate closely with Manufacturing to enhance cost, quality, delivery, and productivity.
Work with planners to support and develop the necessary outsourcing capacity.
Align with Finance and central functions for budget planning, cost monitoring, and working capital optimization.
6. Leadership & Organizational Development
Build, mentor, and guide a high-performing purchasing team.
Define Key Result Areas (KRAs), establish clear performance metrics, and cultivate a results-driven culture.
Develop succession plans and enhance team capabilities through training and development opportunities.
Encourage ethical procurement practices and foster a culture of transparency and accountability.
