Our projects encompass electrical and mechanical testing systems, specialized jigs and fixtures, and the intricate packaging of electronics at the junction of the implant and surgical robotics.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
As the Prototyping Lab Engineer and Manager, you will play a critical role in establishing and maintaining a dynamic environment that empowers our engineering and manufacturing teams to innovate and produce state-of-the-art medical devices. Beyond overseeing equipment and facilities, you will be a vital contributor to technical and operational excellence, ensuring that R&D lab spaces are optimized for collaboration and efficiency. Your responsibilities will include:
- Engineering Lab Design and Operations:
- Designing and constructing lab spaces tailored to the evolving demands of our engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Continuously enhancing lab capabilities and operations by integrating new technologies and optimizing layouts for improved workflow efficiency.
- Managing and maintaining an inventory of all lab equipment, including tools, chemicals, and consumables.
- Implementing systems to ensure lab organization and cleanliness while training users in best practices.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Prototyping and Fabrication:
- Providing hands-on technical assistance to engineers and technicians by building prototypes, setting up workstations, and conducting tests.
- Utilizing various fabrication techniques, including additive and subtractive manufacturing, to produce high-quality prototype components.
- Operating and maintaining a diverse array of machinery and tools essential for prototyping.
- Managing multiple projects concurrently while prioritizing tasks to meet strict deadlines and production timelines.
