Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) plus 8 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven technical expertise in hazardous building materials (asbestos, lead paint, etc.). Experience in industrial hygiene, mold, or indoor air quality assessment. Completion of 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training is required. Possession of EPA AHERA Asbestos Inspector Certification is mandatory. State-specific licenses and certifications pertaining to asbestos in New England (MA, ME, NH, CT) are required or candidates must be eligible to obtain them. A valid Driver’s License and ability to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review are necessary. US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work. Preferred Qualifications:One or more relevant certifications, such as EPA Asbestos Management Planner, EPA Asbestos Project Designer, EPA Asbestos Supervisor, or EPA Lead Risk Assessor.

AECOM's Environmental Business Line is actively seeking a highly skilled Hazardous Building Material/Industrial Hygiene Project Manager to join our Northeast EHS & Air Practice team. This role is based in our Boston, MA, Chelmsford, MA, or Manchester, NH office and requires immediate employment.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years of extensive experience in managing and conducting surveys of hazardous building materials (such as asbestos and lead paint), overseeing abatement processes, and executing industrial hygiene projects. This position is designed as a seller/doer role, merging technical project execution with strategic business development activities.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing a diverse range of hazardous building materials and industrial hygiene projects for both public and private sector clients.
- Collaborating with certified professionals and regulatory experts on various projects, including surveys, investigations, remediation designs, and implementation.
- Providing technical and regulatory guidance for projects across New England, the United States, and internationally.
- Creating comprehensive proposals that outline work scope, budgets, and timelines for hazardous material surveys and industrial hygiene projects.
- Managing or reviewing technical work and field activities to ensure compliance with project scope, budget, schedule, and regulatory standards.
- Drafting and coordinating reports, work plans, and technical memoranda, while analyzing data to draw informed conclusions.
- Working in tandem with other teams within the EHS department and across AECOM's business lines.
- Proactively identifying opportunities to enhance project efficiencies and elevate client service offerings.
- Engaging in business development efforts by identifying and pursuing new opportunities to support departmental growth.
