The Virginia ABC is embarking on an ambitious 5-year modernization program that encompasses 27 high-profile projects aimed at enhancing the enterprise's operational capabilities. We face an urgent requirement for project management talent to support both ongoing and forthcoming projects.
As a Project Manager, your primary responsibilities will include ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. While a background in technology is advantageous, this role focuses more on effective project delivery than on technical specifics. Strong business acumen, management capabilities, budgeting expertise, and analytical skills are essential.
Project Managers excel at motivating teams and optimizing project performance. You will thrive in planning and collaborating with project teams to achieve outstanding outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Guarantee timely delivery of all projects, adhering to scope and budget constraints.
- Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Manage resource availability and allocation.
- Create a detailed project plan to monitor progress.
- Oversee reporting and milestone delivery within our project governance framework.
- Utilize appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
- Measure project performance using suitable systems, tools, and techniques.
- Report and escalate issues to management as necessary.
- Manage client and stakeholder relationships effectively.
- Conduct risk management to minimize project risks.
- Establish and maintain relationships with third-party vendors.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
Qualifications:
- Strong educational background, preferably in business or technology.
- Proven experience as a project administrator in the IT sector.
- Solid technical background with hands-on experience in software development and web technologies.
- Exceptional client-facing and internal communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Robust organizational skills, including attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- PMP or PRINCE II certification is desirable.
- Experience in government sector procurement is advantageous.
