Requirements:2-4 years of relevant construction experience (internships or trade exposure are a plus). Proficient in reading and interpreting construction documents (plans/specifications). Experienced with Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and construction productivity tools. Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills. Willingness to travel to various job sites across Northern California as needed. Self-starter with a desire to advance into a leadership role.

Join our dynamic team at Essel Environmental as a detail-oriented and proactive Project Engineer. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our project management team as we execute specialty exterior scope packages for multi-unit residential and light commercial projects throughout Northern California and the surrounding regions. This is an excellent opportunity for accelerated growth, with the potential to transition into a Project Manager role for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document Control: Assist in the management and distribution of construction documents including drawings, RFIs, specifications, and submittals.
  • Field Coordination & Reporting: Monitor daily field activities, including workforce counts, task progress, weather impacts, and material usage. Document as-built conditions and coordinate necessary third-party inspections.
  • Project Planning & Execution: Contribute to the development of project schedules, installation durations, and goal setting as projects transition from estimating to operations.
  • Submittals & RFIs: Prepare and track submittals, shop drawings, product data sheets, and RFIs to ensure timely review and approval.
  • Takeoffs & Estimating Support: Conduct digital takeoffs and provide data for pricing breakdowns, schedules of values, and preliminary procurement.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate effectively with general contractors, field teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure project alignment and performance.
  • Problem Solving & Technical Oversight: Identify project-related issues and coordinate resolution paths to maintain project progress.
  • Quality Control: Support QA/QC documentation and field verification of materials against approved submittals.
