The company is committed to reshaping how humans and AI work together in aviation.
Role Overview
The Product Designer will shape how pilots interact with AI in the cockpit, creating user experiences where clarity and speed are critical for safety. This role offers the chance to help build a product from the earliest stages, directly impacting a vital area of technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full product design process for Beacon AI’s pilot assistant, from early discovery and user research through wireframes, prototypes, and final specs for engineering.
- Conduct research and usability testing with pilots and aviation experts to understand workflows, mental models, and requirements where safety is paramount.
- Translate complex, AI-driven data and alerts into interfaces that remain clear and actionable, even under cockpit pressure.
- Create and maintain a scalable design system to ensure consistency and efficiency throughout the product.
- Work closely with engineering, applying strong product judgment to deliver thoughtful, refined user experiences through iteration.
- Support brand and visual identity as a secondary focus, including contributions to marketing and web presence as needed.
What Will Help You Succeed
- Strong instincts across the product design spectrum, moving easily from research and strategy to high-fidelity execution.
- Proficiency with Figma and experience managing a comprehensive design system.
- Focus on understanding problems deeply, not just aesthetics, and willingness to challenge briefs that miss the core issues.
- Comfort working in complex, ambiguous situations and seeing them as opportunities.
- Interest in aviation, aerospace, or safety-critical fields.
