Thermal Modeling: Utilize simulation software such as ANSYS, COMSOL, or CFD tools to model heat transfer, combustion, fluid flow, and temperature distribution within furnaces. Material Selection: Identify appropriate refractory materials, insulation, and structural components for furnaces. Efficiency Improvements: Proactively identify methods to reduce energy consumption, enhance thermal efficiency, and minimize heat losses. Process Control: Establish instrumentation and control strategies to maintain optimal operational stability. Prototype Testing: Engage in commissioning and testing of furnace systems, validating thermal performance against specifications. Data Analysis: Monitor thermal profiles, gas flows, emissions, and process parameters to facilitate ongoing improvements. Documentation: Prepare P&IDs, process flow diagrams, technical specifications, and operation manuals. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to safety standards and environmental regulations, including emissions control. Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering team to integrate mechanical systems and manage solids handling. Vendor Liaison: Evaluate and manage suppliers of furnace components and subsystems. Failure Analysis: Investigate and resolve furnace-related issues, recommending system upgrades as necessary. Safety Management: Implement and conduct routine inspections to mitigate workplace safety hazards.
