Our group consists of experts from a variety of disciplines, including technology law, AI, privacy, intellectual property, corporate law, employment law, tax law, regulatory affairs, and litigation.
Your Role as Privacy Counsel
In the role of Privacy Counsel, you will spearhead privacy initiatives for our innovative AI products, models, and technologies. This is an exceptional opportunity to actively engage with the convergence of law and AI. You will report directly to our Associate General Counsel, Head of Privacy Legal.
This position is located in San Francisco, CA, and follows a hybrid work model requiring three days in the office each week.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with OpenAI's research, product, engineering, privacy, and security teams to support the creation and launch of cutting-edge AI products and services.
Identify and mitigate privacy, regulatory, product, and other legal risks.
Devise innovative strategies for addressing legal challenges and create scalable, adaptable processes for managing risks.
Enhance and develop processes to expand our privacy program as the organization grows.
Become a subject matter expert in AI privacy and contribute to the development and advancement of AI legal policy positions.
This Role is Ideal for You If You:
Possess at least 6 years of legal experience, including both in-house and roles in technology-focused law firms.
Hold a JD and are licensed or qualified to practice in California.
Provide strategic privacy guidance on complex and emerging technologies in fast-paced settings.
Exhibit a strong sense of ownership, curiosity about technology, and enjoyment in tackling challenges, demonstrating sound judgment in uncertain situations.
Excel in communication and interpersonal skills, effectively conveying complex concepts to varied audiences.
Adopt a collaborative and proactive approach, with a proven track record of effective cross-functional teamwork.
