Role Overview

The Principal Technical Program Manager ensures visibility and accountability for delivery across Hayden AI’s engineering and business portfolio. This role works closely with executive leadership and partners from Engineering, Growth, Finance, and Operations to turn sometimes conflicting business commitments into a unified, actionable plan. Managing the balance between capacity and demand is central to the role.

Success in this position requires broad technical fluency, from hardware and embedded software to edge AI, cloud services, computer vision, fleet systems, and government deployments. The Principal Technical Program Manager identifies risks early and helps guide key discussions across teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Governance: Oversee the full program portfolio, maintaining a single source of truth for commitments, capacity, dependencies, and project status across the company.
  • Business-Engineering Liaison: Serve as the main connection between executive leadership and engineering, translating business needs into engineering capacity plans and surfacing tradeoffs in advance.
  • Executive Reporting: Build and manage dashboards, reporting structures, and communication processes that give senior leadership a clear view of portfolio health.
  • Capacity Planning & Demand Management: Work with engineering leads in Hardware, Perception, Platform/Cloud, and Engineering Operations to stay current on capacity versus demand and drive prioritization when needed.
  • Cross-Functional Program Delivery: Lead the execution of strategic programs spanning multiple engineering areas and business teams, including customer deployments, new product launches, and scaling operational initiatives.
