Technical Program Manager Team
The Technical Program Manager (TPM) team leads the execution of Upstart’s highest-impact engineering projects. TPMs partner with both product and engineering groups to coordinate complex initiatives that touch multiple systems. Current priorities for the team include:
- Increasing engineering velocity by platformizing and simplifying systems
- Driving operational excellence throughout the organization
- Enhancing machine learning capabilities by streamlining data evaluation and productization
Role overview
The Principal Technical Program Manager role focuses on bringing clarity and momentum to ambiguous technical challenges. This position requires strong ownership of outcomes, with a balance of technical and product judgment. In addition to managing program delivery, Principal TPMs help shape planning, prioritization, and delivery processes, influencing how Upstart scales its operations.
Location
This is a remote role based in the United States. There is also the option to work from offices in Columbus, Austin, the Bay Area, or New York City (opening Summer 2026).
