Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experiences:A Bachelor of Engineering, ideally with over 13 years of experience in delivering complex structural engineering projects across various market sectors and building typologies in Australia and New Zealand. Experience or a keen interest in mass timber design is highly regarded. A proven history of independently providing specialized structural technical input for both conceptual and detailed design phases. Proficiency in advanced digital workflows to achieve optimized design outcomes, coupled with extensive experience using industry-standard software like ETABS, RAM Concept, RAPT, and SpaceGASS. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, allowing for effective collaboration and presentation of ideas.

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Structural Engineer to join our dynamic Building Engineering team, specializing in Defence Projects. While our primary preference is for Adelaide, candidates may also be considered from Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane.

Your Role:

  • Serve as a senior technical expert, providing in-depth technical guidance to the team. Leverage your expertise in essential building components, including stability design, basements, structural steel framing, and connections, with a strong emphasis on designing cost-effective post-tensioned concrete floors.
  • Utilize your extensive delivery experience with various construction materials to engage effectively with clients, architects, and builders throughout the design and construction phases of significant projects.
  • Oversee and refine design and delivery processes to ensure high-quality, economically viable work by team members.
  • Apply your technical knowledge to conduct quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings, as well as to prepare detailed technical specifications.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary engineering team to perform inter-disciplinary reviews of project deliverables while contributing to engineering budgets and schedules to align with project goals.
