Are You Ready to Challenge the Norm?We are looking for:A professionally qualified CEng Chartered Engineer with accreditation from a recognized electrical engineering institution (e.g., the IET). A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, power engineering, or a related technical discipline. Proven experience delivering projects for transmission system operators, such as National Grid, SSE, and SPT, adhering to their standards. Hands-on experience in overhead line engineering, preferably up to 400kV. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Your Role:

As a Principal Overhead Line Engineer, you will be an integral part of our Transmission & Distribution team, leading and collaborating with clients to deliver technically complex overhead line design projects.

  • Provide expert technical support in executing overhead line design for intricate multi-discipline projects.
  • Engage in significant work programs, including GGP projects.
  • Assist in drafting proposals and detailing project timelines, resources, budgets, objectives, and goals.
  • Offer technical insights throughout project implementation, including statutory planning and public consultations.
  • Oversee design activities for overhead lines, including PLS-CADD modeling, line routing, structural analysis, design criteria formulation, sag-tension calculations, insulator/conductor blowout considerations, and thorough clearance reports.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, perform thermal ratings for conductors, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Develop and verify engineering deliverables such as designs, reports, proposals, and presentations.
  • Execute internal quality checks on engineering drawings and calculations.
