Systems Technology Research (STR) is hiring a Principal Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) for its Dayton, OH office. This position focuses on advancing Department of Defense (DoD) projects through model-based and digital engineering methods.
Role overview
The Principal MBSE Engineer leads teams across the Systems Engineering Lifecycle, with a strong focus on digital engineering and MBSE practices. Collaboration with experts in sensor development and cybersecurity is central to this role, as is the implementation of MBSE tools and techniques.
Key responsibilities
- Model systems using SysML and guide teams in customizing automation with Cameo to meet DoD Digital Engineering requirements.
- Mentor junior staff and help grow the organization’s expertise in MBSE and digital engineering.
- Support adoption of agile strategies that integrate model-based requirements management and traceability within software development.
Requirements
- Extensive experience leading teams in systems engineering, system architecture, and the full Systems Engineering Lifecycle.
- Strong background in MBSE, digital engineering, and modeling and simulation.
- Proficiency with SysML and Cameo.
- Experience with programming languages such as C/C++, Java, or Python is highly desirable.
- Interest in mentoring and developing junior engineers.
