Join Our Team as a Principal Investigator in Terrestrial Archaeology
SEARCH is excited to announce an opening for a Principal Investigator specializing in Terrestrial Archaeology within the vibrant Southwest region of the United States. This position is based in our Tucson, AZ office and will primarily oversee projects in Arizona and New Mexico.
The ideal candidate will bring a robust background in cultural resource management and demonstrate experience in managing archaeological projects. Exceptional technical writing skills are required, as you will be responsible for producing comprehensive reports for federal, state, and tribal agencies, complying with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and the National Environmental Policy Act, among other relevant regulations.
Key responsibilities include coordinating fieldwork, research, and laboratory tasks, ensuring timely completion of projects while adhering to applicable standards. You will be tasked with writing high-quality technical reports, ensuring quality control/assurance, managing project staff, and developing project Health & Safety plans. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to juggle multiple projects under tight deadlines are essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and the capacity to travel as needed are critical to success in this role.
