About the job

Convera seeks a Principal FP&A Analyst for its Santa Ana office. Reporting to the Head of FP&A, this position serves as the primary financial partner to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). The analyst will focus on cost management, headcount planning, and financial consolidation for the Go-To-Market organization. Oversight covers operational expenses and headcount across Sales, Revenue Operations, Marketing, and Hedging. The role involves working closely with leadership, HR, and Finance to support disciplined planning, accurate reporting, and a clear understanding of cost drivers and trade-offs.

What you will do

  • Business partnership and cost leadership: Act as the main FP&A partner for the CCO and her leadership team. Provide financial guidance on headcount planning, investment decisions, and operational cost management. Identify cost risks and opportunities for optimization within Commercial functions.
  • Planning, forecasting, and consolidation: Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for operational expenses, headcount, and strategic initiatives. Manage monthly close, variance analysis, and cost consolidation for CCO functions, ensuring forecasts, actuals, and HR data remain aligned.
  • Strategic initiatives and business case support: Collaborate with Commercial, Product, Operations, and Tech teams to develop and align business cases for strategic projects and growth investments. Ensure approved cases are incorporated into budgets and forecasts.
  • Reporting and executive insights: Prepare concise, executive-level reports with clear explanations of cost drivers, risks, and corrective actions. Support Executive Committee and Board reporting on cost performance.

Collaboration

This role involves frequent cross-functional work with finance peers and other teams to plan, develop, and measure business cases and strategic initiatives. The analyst will help ensure investments align with enterprise priorities and are executed with accountability.
