Mission of the Role
As a Principal Process Engineer, you will be integral in advancing ASM’s semiconductor process technologies. Your expertise in thin-film deposition and materials characterization will be key in developing groundbreaking solutions for next-generation devices. Your contributions will significantly enhance product performance, leading to advances in logic, memory, and power applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, develop, and optimize semiconductor processes focused on Advanced Packaging, including depositions (ALD, PECVD, PVD, ECP) and surface preparation.
- Design and execute complex experiments using DOE and RSM methodologies; analyze and interpret experimental data for actionable insights.
- Create novel films or processes for emerging packaging applications, including W2W/D2W Hybrid bonding, and conduct advanced materials characterization.
- Mentor Process Engineers and lead technical problem-solving sessions utilizing scientific methods and tools such as Ishikawa diagrams.
- Collaborate with customers and marketing teams to define project requirements and execute effective demonstrations.
- Address equipment issues through hands-on troubleshooting and ensure successful product transition to customers.
- Prepare technical papers, generate Intellectual Property, and present findings to professional forums.
- Travel up to 10% to support remote sites and customer engagements.
- May supervise process engineering technicians and contribute to performance evaluations.
