Key Responsibilities: Lead and cultivate a team within the motion planning organization, focusing on planning algorithms and constraint generation. Collaborate with fellow leaders to provide technical guidance, making critical decisions on architectural strategies, resource allocation, operational execution, and managing technical debt. Develop a robust and scalable motion planner, prioritizing safety throughout the design, prototyping, testing, deployment, and production processes. Utilize a metrics-driven approach to enhance technical components. Refine existing planning methodologies to support data-driven decision-making. Advocate for diversity and inclusion in both products and team dynamics. Mentor and provide constructive feedback to team members, fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment. Exhibit initiative in generating innovative ideas, establishing a team vision, and considering the holistic robotaxi system. Implement and review algorithms and code while adhering to rigorous engineering methodologies. Work closely with project managers to create roadmaps and execute plans effectively.
