Principal Electrical Engineer - Starlink

As a leader in aerospace technology, SpaceX is revolutionizing global internet access through Starlink, the largest satellite constellation on Earth. Our advanced system delivers high-speed, reliable internet to millions of users around the globe. We are responsible for designing, building, testing, and operating every aspect of this innovative project, from thousands of satellites to user-friendly receivers and the integrated software that connects it all.

In your role as Principal Electrical Engineer, you will oversee the entire lifecycle of the hardware that powers this connectivity, collaborating across various engineering disciplines, including mechanical, thermal analysis, software, and antenna/RF engineering. You will tackle challenges related to high-speed digital communications, analog systems, power electronics, and RF devices. Your responsibilities will encompass system design, schematic capture, PCB layout oversight, hardware troubleshooting, and driving requirements for silicon development and product testing. You will also play a crucial role in achieving successful outcomes across interdisciplinary satellite subsystems, including partnerships with peers in mechanical and software engineering.

Sub-teams include:

  • Avionics: Responsible for designing and developing the avionics systems that control the satellite, manage power distribution, and facilitate high-speed communication via cutting-edge Space Lasers.
  • Payload: Focused on the innovative hardware, including phased arrays and custom electronics, that deliver connectivity to our users.

Your team assignment will be determined during the interview process based on your technical skills, expertise, and personal preferences.
