Master’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling, with licensure in New York State as a Limited Permit MHC, LMHC, LMSW, LCSW, or a Ph. D. in Psychology.1-3 years of experience in public or community mental health settings, particularly serving low-income and culturally diverse populations. Proficient in computer applications relevant to documentation and client management.

About the job

Purpose: The Primary Therapist will deliver ongoing mental health treatment utilizing evidence-based and person-centered practices to support clients in achieving their wellness goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions, crisis intervention, education, and skills training to clients.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation is completed in compliance with state and federal regulations as well as agency policies.
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans, including screenings for appropriate levels of care.
  • Engage in collateral consultation and complex care coordination, documenting to connect clients with necessary services.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and participate in regular supervision sessions.
  • Attend required professional development activities and necessary trainings to enhance skills.
  • Licensed therapists may offer clinical supervision to MHC or LMSW therapists and student interns as required.
  • Meet or exceed productivity targets.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, being mindful of the importance of Corporate Compliance Policies and the Code of Conduct.
  • Maintain necessary certifications and licenses to practice.
