The Mission:

Our Human-Machine Interaction Research (HMIR) group employs a design thinking approach to prioritize human needs in the development of human-machine interfaces. We strive to create automotive HMI technologies that foster seamless collaboration between humans and AI, regardless of ability.

The Team:

Within the HMIR group, our focus is on designing, developing, and assessing innovative interfaces that enhance driver safety, well-being, and performance through human-centered AI.

The Opportunity:

We are currently looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to contribute to an exciting project examining next-generation extended reality (XR) experiences in vehicles. This research will explore how generative AI and real-time video processing can facilitate new forms of visual augmentation and interaction between drivers and their environments. The ideal candidate will take charge of key technical directions, manage implementation and evaluation processes, and collaborate closely with team members to achieve outstanding research results.

This full-time, one-year postdoctoral position will be deeply integrated within the HMIR team at TRI. Please note that this role requires in-office presence in Los Altos, CA, and involves several trips to test tracks.
