Qualifications

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field, preferably in physics, computer science, or mathematics. Proficiency in coding, particularly in Python. Previous experience in a trading environment, particularly in trading power, gas, carbon, or spark spreads within the UK power market. Experience in pricing and hedging structured products. Strong IT skills, ideally including SQL, C#, MySQL, and REST API. Effective team player with a knack for collaboration across diverse teams. Self-motivated and hands-on, capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines. Strong communicator, able to simplify and explain complex issues effectively. Proficiency in English, both verbal and written. Detail-oriented and diligent, comfortable with repetitive tasks as necessary.

Join our dynamic and innovative Portfolio Management team at Statkraft as a Portfolio Structured Trader. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside some of the best professionals in the industry on the UK Power desk.

As a Portfolio Structured Trader, you will collaborate with traders and analysts to:

  • Originate structured deals that effectively manage our complex risks (vBESS, vWind, vSolar, vPeakers).
  • Price and evaluate the risk and return on new structured deals.
  • Execute structured transactions, navigating Statkraft’s New Product Process.
  • Collaborate with the Portfolio Management team to manage positions arising from the portfolio, including structured trades.
  • Develop hedging strategies using both vanilla and structured products to mitigate risks within the portfolio.
  • Support the UK power desk by managing market positions together with the traders.
  • Work closely with the quantitative team to drive the development of new tools and enhance existing ones.
  • Create and implement strategies to maximize trading value across our books.
  • Proactively address new and complex challenges as they arise, ensuring timely and effective solutions with the traders.
