Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering is required; preference for degrees from an ABET-accredited program. A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is essential. Current CPD, PE in Mechanical or FPE in the United States is preferred. LEED accreditation is advantageous. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Ability to manage multiple projects effectively. Familiarity with engineering design software applications is required.

ABOUT THE POSITION
You will join our diverse team, collaborating under the guidance of a licensed Engineer and project leadership. Your projects may encompass new constructions and renovations across educational, healthcare, corporate commercial, and scientific sectors.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design plumbing and fire protection systems, selecting appropriate piping and equipment for various building projects, working independently on simpler assignments and under senior supervision for more complex tasks.
  • Conduct parameter-based calculations with oversight from a senior engineer.
  • Create production drawings for plumbing and fire protection systems, transitioning from schematic to construction phases.
  • Draft and revise specifications for new and existing projects.
  • Specify equipment for plumbing and fire protection systems, including sprinklers, sewage systems, and medical gas systems.
  • Review shop drawings to ensure compliance with specifications and contract documents.
  • Engage effectively with clients and project team members by attending Owner, Architect, and Construction Administration (OAC) meetings, managing project budgets.
  • Research and address emerging issues as they arise independently.
  • Participate in or lead value engineering sessions with the Architectural/Engineering team.
  • Facilitate staff development through mentoring and training presentations.
  • Provide direction to less experienced staff as needed.
  • Conduct site visits during the construction phase, necessitating physical inspections and potentially working independently.
  • Be prepared for overtime and travel as required.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.
