Purpose: As a Placement Specialist, you will leverage a person-centered approach to assist consumers in preparing for and successfully securing employment within the community. You will play a vital role across all vocational and employment programs, providing a diverse array of vocational and career planning activities. These include facilitating job readiness workshops, conducting career assessments, developing essential skills for career advancement, organizing worksite tours, and offering job placement and retention support. Additionally, you will engage in outreach to Refugee and other identified populations.
Key Functions:
1. Establish and nurture relationships with local employers to create partnership opportunities for placing consumers in competitive jobs.
2. Guide consumers in acquiring essential job search skills, including interviewing techniques and job preparation strategies.
3. Maintain comprehensive documentation of all visits and activities on behalf of consumers, including case notes and progress reports for funders. Strive to achieve 100% of established productivity standards aligned with program goals.
4. Support consumers in crafting individual vocational rehabilitation plans that incorporate ongoing progress assessments and needs evaluations.
5. Represent the agency at professional associations and organizations that provide job networking opportunities.
6. Collaborate with Employment Consultants post-placement to bolster job retention efforts. Foster effective teamwork and contribute to the success of program and management initiatives, while working across departments to build strong working relationships.
7. Assist in creating marketing materials to enhance job development, placement, and retention activities.
8. Conduct all intake interviews and associated paperwork for initial assessments.
9. Maintain regular contact with consumers to encourage participation and follow-through on job development initiatives.
10. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including Corporate Compliance Policies and the Code of Conduct. Ensure that all required certifications and licenses are maintained.
