An innovative engineering and technology firm, dedicated to revolutionizing the low-carbon vehicle industry, is seeking a skilled PCB Layout Engineer to become part of their newly established team in Solihull.
Commutable from: Solihull, Rugby, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Coventry, Redditch and Birmingham.
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 p.a.
The Role:
As a PCB Layout Engineer, you will:
- Assume full responsibility for PCB layout while supporting the planning of circuit design and manufacturing activities.
- Engage in PCB layout design, schematic design and review, part library creation, component placement, routing, and manufacturing data.
- Develop, modify, and maintain part libraries based on component data sheets and technical drawings.
- Generate manufacturing data packs, including Gerber files, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and other design documents essential for PCB fabrication and assembly.
- Establish and uphold review protocols and design rule checks (DRC).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure PCB compatibility with enclosures and fixings.
- Manage supplies and oversee the issuance of quotations.
The Candidate:
To qualify as a PCB Layout Engineer, you will possess:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in electronics hardware design and product development.
- Proficiency in Altium for schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Experience in analogue, digital, and power PCB design.
- Knowledge of IPC standards related to design, inspection, and EMI/EMC requirements for optimal design practices.
- Experience in order processing and BOM creation specific to PCBs.
