Become a Part-Time Math Instructor at AoPS Academy!

As a Part-Time Math Instructor, you will:
- Deliver Engaging Curriculum: Utilize our specially designed curriculum to lead small classes focused on advanced mathematical concepts.
- Foster Student Engagement: Actively involve students in class discussions and promote student-led learning.
- Manage the Classroom: Effectively oversee a class of up to 16 students, ensuring a productive learning environment.
- Provide Assessment Feedback: Offer constructive feedback on tests and assignments to guide student progress.
- Build Relationships: Establish strong connections with students and their families to enhance their educational experiences.
- Inspire a Love for Learning: Encourage critical thinking and a passion for mathematics among your students.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree (required); a degree in a STEM-related or educational field is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts.
- Preferred teaching experience at the K-12 level.
- Experience in teaching or tutoring students.
Note: A formal teaching credential is not required for this role.
Schedule (Academic Year):
- Classes are held in the evenings and on weekends. Availability during after-school hours (starting as early as 4 PM) and weekends is essential.
- Commitment of approximately 3 hours per week for each assigned class is required.
- Each course meets once a week for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Schedule (Summer):
- In the summer, we offer multiple two-week camps from June to August.
- Camp classes run Monday through Friday for 3 hours a day, available in both morning and afternoon sessions.
Campus Location:
This is an in-person position at our San Diego campus. Candidates must reside in or around San Diego, CA, and be able to commute to our location.
