The Health Information Management Clerk plays a pivotal role in ensuring the organization and management of confidential medical records, adhering to healthcare standards and regulations set forth by the Office of Mental Health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and organize client medical records for admissions and discharges.
- Maintain databases and information management systems tailored to Mental Health programs.
- Efficiently file documentation into both active and inactive medical records.
- Ensure all documentation follows the correct sequential order according to the chart structure.
- Assist clinical staff with the management of medical records and related processes.
- Process treatment plans and manage documentation requests.
- Generate reports utilizing Excel spreadsheets and Access databases.
- Input diagnosis codes into electronic records accurately.
- Distribute medical records to clinicians in line with scheduled appointments.
- Draft and prepare correspondence requests for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Handle requests for client information in a timely manner.
- Comply with company policies, including Corporate Compliance Policies and the Code of Conduct.
- Maintain all necessary certifications and licenses.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
