Part-time|On-site|Silver Spring, MD The Assistant Store Manager role at Insomnia Cookies is an exciting leadership opportunity aimed at nurturing the next generation of Bakery Operations Managers. In this pivotal position, you will operate at a near-BOM level, ensuring bakery operations are executed with urgency, precision, and accountability, while simultaneously honing the leadership skills necessary to manage a bakery independently.This dynamic role merges hands-on operational excellence with team development, administrative responsibility, and leadership. ASMs serve as a vital extension of the BOM and are prepared to assume full bakery ownership as required.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOperational Execution• Oversee core bakery operations, including inventory rotation, scheduling support, staffing coordination, and adherence to administrative checklists.• Uphold the highest standards of product quality, cleanliness, food safety, and guest experience.• Assist in ordering, maintaining inventory accuracy, and managing shrink control.• Help create and execute schedules to meet operational objectives.Talent & Team Development• Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and training process for new staff.• Provide ongoing coaching and immediate performance feedback.• Hold team members accountable to established standards while fostering a culture of growth and development.• Ensure the execution of onboarding and training programs in alignment with company standards.Leadership & Ownership• Independently manage bakery operations in the absence of the BOM.• Exemplify urgency, accountability, and operational discipline.• Collaborate with the BOM and area leadership to identify operational gaps and implement effective solutions.• Ensure operational continuity during leadership transitions or staffing shortages.• Perform additional duties as needed.WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE• Competently execute all BOM-level administrative and operational tasks.• Maintain a fully staffed, trained bakery operating at exemplary standards.• Foster a strong culture of accountability and consistency.• Serve as a reliable operational leader during coverage scenarios.• Show clear readiness and potential for advancement into a BOM role.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE• Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality operations.• Demonstrated operational discipline and strong attention to detail.• Ability to coach and develop team members effectively.• Comfortable in fast-paced, high-volume environments.• Capability to perform all bakery roles during peak business periods.• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.SWEET POSITION PERKS• Competitive compensation with bonus potential.• Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits.• Opportunities for career growth and development.
