Full-time|$80K/yr - $120K/yr|On-site|Poughkeepsie, New York, United States LaBella Associates is seeking a dynamic and motivated Junior Plumbing Engineer to join our Building Engineering division. This position can be based in any of our offices located in Rochester, Albany, Buffalo, Elmira, Ithaca, Poughkeepsie, Syracuse, or White Plains.Our Building Engineering Division offers comprehensive engineering services, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and structural engineering. We handle a wide range of projects from feasibility studies to design and construction, serving diverse clients in various sectors.The ideal Junior Plumbing Engineer will collaborate closely with clients to deliver integrated plumbing and fire protection designs for various building projects. Key responsibilities include plumbing, fire sprinkler and fire alarm design, code analysis, and providing technical support to meet project requirements. Projects typically involve fieldwork, design, coordination, and construction administration, focusing on restroom design, domestic water, and sanitary systems. Additional skills in compressed gas piping design and familiarity with fire code are preferred. A successful candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment, mentor junior engineers and architects, and have opportunities for business development. This role also allows for growth into a leadership position within the office.Key Responsibilities:Develop plumbing and fire protection concepts and construction documents for new buildings and renovations.Create designs focusing on plumbing systems, fire protection system design, fire alarms, fire code reviews, and smoke modeling.Conduct code and egress analysis for new constructions, additions, and renovations based on building and fire code knowledge.Design smoke control systems using software like Contam.Engage in plumbing, piping, and fire protection design for sectors including corrections, higher education, laboratories, and healthcare.Perform fire protection hydraulic calculations with industry-standard software.Design piping for compressed gas systems for industrial and medical applications.Communicate directly with clients to analyze design options, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and support decision-making.Contribute to the financial performance and schedule of projects.Assist in proposal writing for new business opportunities.Maintain strong client relationships.
