The Outpatient Assistant at Luminis Health in Annapolis, MD, welcomes patients at the back desk and manages incoming calls. This position plays a key role in the check-in process, making sure all required forms are completed and signed accurately.
Main Responsibilities
- Answer intake calls, complete encounters in EPIC, and gather detailed substance use history along with insurance details.
- Schedule appointments quickly and route callers to the right staff when needed.
- Work closely with clinical staff and take part in staff meetings.
- Organize and maintain new outpatient records, ensuring all required documents are included.
- Support the chain of custody for outpatient urine specimens for drug screening, follow established procedures, process payments, and issue receipts for screenings as needed.
- Register patients in the electronic medical record system and assist Pathways staff with registration questions.
- Provide administrative support to the Outpatient Department, including managing office tasks like supply inventory, billing, and invoicing.
- Review and maintain statistical data for reports such as CPI/QI reports.
- Post daily charges when required.
- Fill in for the financial counselor and assist at the front desk as needed.
