Role overview

The Optical Assistant is a key part of the daily store routine in London. This position greets visitors, helps them select frames and lenses, and ensures each guest receives attentive and informed service. The work combines hands-on technical tasks with a friendly, approachable attitude, supporting both customers and the wider Cubitts team.

Main responsibilities

  • Provide excellent service throughout the customer journey, meeting Cubitts' standards for experience.
  • Communicate the Cubitts brand story, mission, and values in every interaction.
  • Guide customers in choosing frames and lenses, offering recommendations tailored to individual needs.
  • Dispense prescription and non-prescription lenses with accuracy.
  • Adjust frames and carry out basic repairs to ensure proper fit and comfort.
  • Introduce and explain the Made to Measure service, highlighting its craftsmanship.
  • Maintain a clean, organized store with appealing displays and well-managed inventory.
  • Adhere to GDPR and confidentiality guidelines to maintain professionalism and trust.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to support a positive team environment.
