To succeed as a Systems & Automation Engineer, you will need: A Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a technical field like Computer Science or Engineering. Demonstrable experience in administering Windows Server and Windows 11 in a production setting. Hands-on expertise in Active Directory and Group Policy, including architecture, user, device, and policy management. Proficiency with Linux systems for operational tasks and troubleshooting. Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, HTTP/S, TCP/IP, and related protocols. Experience in writing Python scripts to automate tasks and enhance system reliability. Familiarity with concepts and tools for identity, access, and endpoint management. The capability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive projects to completion. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.

Join the dynamic trading team at nextstepsystems as a Systems & Automation Engineer, where your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of our trading systems. This position is strictly onsite and does not support remote work.

 

As a Systems & Automation Engineer, you will:

 

  • Manage and maintain trading systems, ensuring their continuity and stability in a live trading environment.
  • Develop and implement Python-based automation solutions for operational tools, monitoring dashboards, and deployment workflows.
  • Administer Windows systems, focusing on configuration management, patching, performance tuning, and incident response.
  • Oversee identity, endpoint, and access management across the Microsoft ecosystem, including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across various systems, applications, and networking components within a multi-platform environment.
  • Support operational security initiatives by enhancing system hardening, addressing vulnerabilities, and implementing continuous monitoring strategies.
  • Participate in on-call coverage as part of a team rotation.
