Luminis Health is seeking an Office Assistant for the Pre-Anesthesia Testing team in Annapolis, MD. This role supports an ambulatory healthcare office, handling a mix of administrative and patient-facing tasks. The Office Assistant helps maintain efficient patient flow, manages records, and delivers attentive customer service both in person and over the phone. Close collaboration with physicians and other practice staff is part of daily work.
Main Responsibilities
- Greet patients and register them accurately using the practice management system.
- Communicate with insurance companies and other medical offices for referrals and coverage verification.
- Scan and abstract documents as needed.
- Retrieve patient records from other offices and hospitals when required.
- Answer incoming calls, schedule appointments, take messages, and direct calls appropriately.
- Support daily business operations to keep the office running smoothly.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required. Graduation from an accredited training program is preferred.
- At least one year of clerical or billing experience in a medical office is preferred.
- Strong background in customer service is highly preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
- Certification in Medical Interpretation is required if serving as a bilingual or multilingual interpreter.
