Summary: We are on the lookout for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to spearhead New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives for our cutting-edge hardware. This role will act as a vital link between our Design and Manufacturing teams, ensuring that custom hardware components and assemblies are produced in alignment with our design objectives.

Primary Role and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with R&D to enhance the manufacturability and reliability of parts and assemblies from prototype through to large-scale production.
  • Create and refine CAD models, 2D drawings, and tolerance stack-up analyses to assure successful assembly and yield.
  • Establish and develop inspection protocols and metrology methods.
  • Work closely with manufacturing to design custom fixtures and tooling that ensure process controls match design intent and critical-to-quality (CTQ) standards.
  • Engage in and lead design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (dFMEA) and process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (pFMEA) to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Conduct in-depth failure analysis investigations to troubleshoot complex design, material, or process challenges.
  • Oversee contract manufacturing partners, managing both engineering and technician teams as well as processes such as machining, welding, and polymer processing.
