Role Overview: Network Security Engineer (Hybrid, Chicago, IL)
This hybrid position reports to the Manager of Network Engineering. The Network Security Engineer plays a key role in designing, planning, and implementing secure network solutions for Waymo’s large-scale WiFi environments and data centers.
Main Responsibilities
- Strategic Design & Implementation: Lead the design and execution of major network security projects in both WiFi and data center environments. Act as a subject matter expert throughout the project lifecycle, from initial planning through deployment.
- Production Network Design & Planning: Develop and review Engineering Design Plans (EDPs) for multiple sites. Work closely with the broader network team to create architectures that align with Waymo’s security and design standards.
