Position Overview:

As the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for Confirmo FZE in the UAE, you will take charge of the AML/CFT program, ensuring compliance with UAE laws, VARA regulations, and FATF standards. Your role is critical in the prevention, detection, and reporting of financial crimes including money laundering and terrorist financing. You will have the authority to directly communicate with the Board on AML/CFT matters and will partner with the Risk & Compliance Officer to align AML/CFT risks within the broader risk management framework of the organization.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the AML/CFT framework for Confirmo FZE, ensuring compliance with both group policies and UAE regulations.

  • Oversee the KYC/KYB onboarding processes, enhanced due diligence, and continuous customer monitoring.

  • Manage transaction monitoring systems, ensuring alerts are addressed promptly and effectively.

  • Implement and maintain compliance with the FATF Travel Rule for virtual asset transfers.

  • Ensure sanctions screening is updated against relevant lists including UAE, UN, EU, and OFAC.

  • Evaluate internal SARs and determine when to report to the UAEFIU via the goAML platform.

  • File all Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) accurately and within required timeframes.

  • Act as the primary contact with UAEFIU and law enforcement for AML/CFT issues.

  • Stay informed on changes to UAE AML/CFT legislation and FATF guidance, updating policies as necessary.

  • Conduct periodic reviews of AML/CFT policies to ensure alignment with group standards and local requirements.
